Having two boilers increased the flexibility of thermal plant and allowed them to lead and lag.


As natural gas was not available the fuel was changed to LNG which improved the emissions from the boiler and allowed an economiser to be used on the new boilers increased the efficiency.


Improved heat recovery – Implementation of 2nd stage economiser on the new boilers and heat recovery from refrigeration system (installation of new de-superheater) were combined to provide heat to a new hot water storage tank for distribution to the sites hot water users.

Installation of a CHP to hot water to the LPHW system and providing electricity generation to the site.
