Position Overview: 

You will act as a key technical authority within EM3, supporting and leading the technical delivery of services across the company’s three core service lines: Industrial Utilities, Energy Engineering, and Concept Generation/Process Design. This role requires a strong technical understanding of all three service lines to effectively coordinate, develop, and support a growing team of subject matter experts (SMEs), specialised engineers and design coordinator.  

The Technical Services Lead will oversee global delivery functions, ensuring that the technical capabilities, knowledge, and learning support required are set-up for successful project execution. This function is integral to ensuring the company’s services remain at the forefront of the industry, aligned with emerging trends and evolving technologies. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Technical Leadership & Oversight: 

  • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction across all three service lines: Industrial Utilities, Energy Engineering and Concept Generation/Process Design. 
  • Act as the ultimate technical authority, ensuring that all projects adhere to the highest technical standards and best practices. 
  • Oversee and sign off on key design steps, including energy audits and project delivery steps, ensuring all technical requirements and risks are fully addressed. 

Team Development & Management: 

  • Lead and manage a growing global team of SMEs, specialised engineers and a design coordinator. 
  • Foster a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment to ensure team members are equipped with the necessary skills and support to execute projects effectively. 
  • Develop training programs, internal knowledge-sharing platforms, and other resources to build the team’s technical capabilities and enhance overall service delivery. 

Global Service Delivery Coordination: 

  • Coordinate the global delivery of services, ensuring consistency and technical excellence across multiple regions and time zones. 
  • Maintain awareness of global industry trends, emerging technologies and new areas of opportunity to continually refine and enhance the service offering. 
  • Act as the primary point of contact for resolving complex technical issues that arise during the delivery of projects. 

Risk Management & Process Oversight: 

  • Ensure industrial process risk assessments are conducted throughout project phases, identifying potential issues early and providing mitigation strategies. 
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of all projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications, timelines, and budgets while proactively addressing any technical risks. 

Collaboration with Service Line Leads: 

  • Collaborate closely with the Service Line Leads to ensure alignment between technical capabilities and the overall strategy for each service line. 
  • Provide technical support and input to service line leads during the development and execution of projects. 
  • Assist in the identification of new service offerings or modifications to existing services based on emerging industry trends and client needs. 

Innovation & Continuous Improvement: 

  • Drive innovation in energy management solutions by staying ahead of technological advances in energy systems, utilities and process design. 
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the technical teams to improve the quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of service delivery. 
  • Evaluate and integrate feedback from clients and project teams to refine processes and methodologies. 

Client & Stakeholder Engagement: 

  • Engage directly with clients to understand their energy management needs and provide expert guidance on technical matters. 
  • Ensure that clients receive timely and accurate technical updates on project progress, with a focus on delivering high-quality, value-driven solutions. 
  • Represent EM3 at global forums, conferences, and client meetings, showcasing the company’s technical expertise and thought leadership in the energy management space. 

Design and Delivery Sign-Off: 

  • Have ultimate responsibility for the signoff of design lock steps in energy audits and project delivery steps, ensuring compliance with all technical, safety, and regulatory standards. 
  • Maintain quality control over all aspects of design and project delivery, ensuring that designs meet the client’s energy optimisation and sustainability goals. 

 Global Mobility & Flexibility: 

  • Be willing to travel globally to support the team, clients, and projects, ensuring smooth service delivery across various regions. 
  • Flexibility to adapt to different time zones, working schedules, and project timelines as needed to support a global team and client base. 

 Competencies and Skills: 

  • Technical Expertise: Deep technical knowledge across Industrial Utilities, Energy Engineering and Concept Generation/Process Design. Strong understanding of energy systems, sustainability practices, energy efficiency technologies, and industrial processes. 
  • Leadership & Team Development: Proven ability to lead and inspire a diverse, global team of engineers, designers, and SMEs, promoting a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing environment. 
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple projects, manage resources effectively, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality outcomes. 
  • Global Experience: Experience working in global teams with knowledge of industry standards, practices, and trends in various regions. Ability to navigate cultural and regional differences while ensuring consistent service delivery. 
  • Industrial Process Risk Management: Expertise in identifying, evaluating, and managing industrial process risks, ensuring the safety and efficiency of energy management systems and projects. 
  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage with clients at all levels and manage expectations effectively. 
  • Innovation & Strategic Thinking: Ability to identify emerging trends and technologies in energy management and integrate them into the service offering. 
  • Flexibility & Adaptability: Ability to manage a flexible working schedule to support global teams and clients across different time zones. 

 Qualifications / Experience: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, or related discipline). A Master’s degree or equivalent advanced qualification is a plus. 
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in energy management, industrial utilities, energy engineering, or process design with at least 5 years in a leadership role. 
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in energy management, project management, or industrial process design (e.g., PMP, LEED, CEM) are highly desirable. 
  • Global Experience: Previous experience managing or coordinating teams across multiple global locations is essential.
