Position Overview:

You will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of energy management services to industrial clients, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently, on time, and in line with client sustainability and energy goals. The role requires a strategic leader with a strong technical understanding of energy management solutions, the ability to manage a team of energy consultants and engineers, and a commitment to driving the success and growth of the EM3 energy management service line.

This individual will work closely with clients to assess energy usage, identify opportunities for optimisation and implement energy-saving solutions that reduce costs and carbon footprints. The Energy Management Services Lead will play a key role in enhancing the service offerings of EM3, managing the successful delivery of energy management projects and building long-term relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

Service Delivery & Project Management:

  • Lead and oversee the delivery of energy management services, including energy audits, process optimization, energy modelling and the integration of renewable energy solutions for industrial clients.
  • Ensure that energy management projects are completed on time / Budget, within scope and meet client expectations.
  • Work closely with the project management and operations teams to ensure the seamless execution of projects, providing technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor and review project progress, addressing any challenges or risks that may arise to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Maintain a high standard of service delivery, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in energy management.

 Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of energy consultants, engineers, and specialists, ensuring they have the skills and resources to deliver effective energy management solutions.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Develop training programs and provide coaching to staff to support professional development and ensure technical excellence.
  • Ensure team members are aligned with company goals, client needs, and the latest industry trends and technologies in energy management.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, acting as the primary point of contact for energy management services.
  • Conduct regular client meetings to understand their energy needs, goals, and challenges, and offer tailored energy management solutions.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on energy efficiency, sustainability, decarbonisation and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through the delivery of value-added services and the achievement of their energy goals.

Business Development & Growth:

  • Collaborate with the business development and sales teams to identify new opportunities for energy management services, including cross-selling additional services and solutions.
  • Participate in the development of proposals, tenders and presentations to attract new clients and expand relationships with existing clients.
  • Drive the growth of the energy management services portfolio, contributing to EM3’s overall business growth and market expansion.

Strategic Planning & Service Enhancement:

  • Contribute to the strategic planning of the energy management services line, identifying new areas for growth and innovation.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and regulations in the energy management industry and integrate these insights into service offerings.
  • Continuously improve service delivery processes, ensuring maximum efficiency, quality and client satisfaction.
  • Lead the development of new service offerings and refine existing ones to better meet client needs in energy management and sustainability.

Financial Management:

  • Manage the financial aspects of energy management projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring profitability.
  • Monitor the financial performance of the energy services line, providing regular reports to senior management on key metrics and outcomes.
  • Ensure that energy management projects are executed within budget and that any deviations are addressed in a timely manner.

  • Business Development: Demonstrated success in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including proposal development, client presentations, and closing contracts.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting and managing the profitability of energy management projects.
  • Strategic Thinking & Execution: Ability to develop and execute strategic plans for energy services, balancing long-term vision with short-term objectives.
  • Problem Solving & Innovation: Creative problem-solver with the ability to develop innovative solutions to meet client energy goals and improve operational efficiency.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of energy efficiency technologies, sustainability trends, and regulatory requirements in the industrial manufacturing sector.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex energy management solutions to clients and senior stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Environmental Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CEA, CEM, PMP) are a plus.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in energy management or energy consultancy, with at least 3 years in a leadership role managing teams and energy projects.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience working with industrial manufacturing clients, including those in sectors like Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, Food & Beverage and general manufacturing.
  • Project Delivery: Proven track record of successfully managing energy management projects, ensuring technical excellence, client satisfaction and financial success.
  • Business Development: Experience in business development, including lead generation, proposal writing and contract negotiation.
