Position Overview:
You will be responsible for driving the development, delivery and growth of EM3’s consultancy services, working closely with clients to provide expert guidance on energy efficiency, sustainability, and decarbonisation strategies. This individual will manage a team of consultants and engineers, while ensuring the delivery of high-quality, tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of industrial manufacturing clients. The role requires a deep technical understanding of energy management, industrial utilities and sustainability, alongside strong leadership and business development skills to build and maintain long-term client relationships and successfully grow the consultancy business.
The Consultancy Lead will oversee the execution of consultancy projects, providing strategic direction and ensuring that services are delivered on time, within budget and in line with client objectives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future direction of the consultancy service line and contribute to the continued success and expansion of EM3.
Key Responsibilities:
Consultancy Service Delivery:
- Lead the delivery of high-quality consultancy services to clients across the industrial manufacturing sector, ensuring energy efficiency, sustainability, and decarbonisation goals are met.
- Develop and implement customised energy management solutions based on client needs, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
- Oversee the execution of energy audits, feasibility studies, process optimisation assessments, and design proposals to ensure the successful implementation of client projects.
- Provide expert guidance on energy performance optimisation, cost reduction strategies, renewable energy integration and emissions reduction across various industrial processes.
- Work closely with internal teams (Operations, Project Management, Technical Services) to ensure seamless execution of consultancy services.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of consultants and engineers, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Develop training and professional development programs for team members, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to deliver innovative and effective solutions.
- Ensure that the consultancy team is equipped to address a wide range of client needs, keeping abreast of the latest industry trends, technologies and regulations.
Business Development & Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, identifying new opportunities for consultancy projects and services.
- Work with the Business Development and Sales teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities, generate leads, preparing proposals and closing sales.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, understanding their energy management challenges and providing strategic advice and solutions.
- Collaborate with clients to co-create solutions, ensuring that their energy efficiency and sustainability objectives are effectively addressed.
- Ensure client satisfaction by delivering results that align with their expectations, and continuously seek opportunities to enhance the value delivered.
Strategic Planning & Consultancy Growth:
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for the consultancy service line, aligned with the company’s overall objectives.
- Monitor industry developments, trends, and regulatory changes to inform service offerings and ensure EM3.ie remains competitive in the energy management space.
- Innovate and adapt consultancy services to meet the evolving needs of clients, ensuring that solutions are future-proof and aligned with industry best practices.
Financial Management & Reporting:
- Manage the financial aspects of consultancy projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation to ensure profitability and project success.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring that deliverables are met on time and within budget, and that any risks or issues are promptly addressed.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on the performance of the consultancy service line, tracking key metrics such as project completion rates, client satisfaction, and revenue generation.
Process Improvement & Quality Assurance:
- Continuously assess and improve consultancy delivery processes, identifying areas for efficiency gains and ensuring that high-quality standards are maintained across all projects.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in energy management and sustainability.
- Implement quality control measures to guarantee that consultancy services meet the required technical and operational standards.

- Consultancy Expertise: In-depth knowledge of energy management, sustainability, decarbonisation strategies, and industrial utilities. Experience in delivering energy audits, feasibility studies and optimization solutions within the manufacturing sector.
- Business Development & Client Management: Strong ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships, identify business opportunities and secure new consultancy projects.

- Financial Acumen: Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and managing the profitability of consultancy projects.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple consultancy projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery, client satisfaction, and successful outcomes.
- Industry Knowledge: Awareness of the latest trends, technologies, and regulations in energy management, sustainability, and decarbonisation within the industrial manufacturing sector.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Environmental Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CEM, PMP) is a plus.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in consultancy services related to energy management, sustainability, or industrial process optimisation, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience working with industrial manufacturing clients, particularly in sectors such as Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, Food & Beverage, and Manufacturing.
- Business Development: Proven track record of business development, including generating leads, preparing proposals, and successfully closing sales.
- Project Delivery: Experience in overseeing and managing the delivery of large-scale consultancy projects, ensuring client satisfaction and financial success.
